  • Jethro Tull invents the seed drill.

    Jethro Tull invented the seed drill in 1701. The seed drill made a huge advancement in agriculture because farmers could now make fast holes and even rows to plant future crops. The seed drill made things faster and easier for farmers.
  • john Kay invents flying shuttle.

    This improved looms and alllowed weavers to weave faster. This interesting invention threw the shuttle across the loom thus completing the weave. This was the firat "machine" used for textiles.
  • James Watt builds steam engine.

    James Watt and Matthew Boulton teamed up to make the first steam engine in 1765. This engine was used to power everything from factories to the machines in the factories to locomotives top transfer textiles made by the factories. The steam engine is one of the most revolutionary inventions of the industrial revolution.
  • Marx and Engels publish Communist Manifesto.

    In 1848 Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published the 26 page pamphlet called the Communist Manifesto. This idea was crafted when engels went to a factory saw what was happening and how the workers were being treated and reported back to Marx. The two discussed a way for people to be more equal and have capital better distributed and put these ideas into words in the Communist Manifesto.
  • US experiences technical boom after civil war.

    When the civil war ended in the mid 1860s the US was flourished with inventions. These inventions included the telephone invented by Alexander Bell and the telegraph invented by Samuel Morse whpo even had a special code called morse code used while using a telegraph. These ways of communication helped industrialize America.
  • Germany becomes industrial power in Europe

    germany industrialized with the production of steel and power lines created during the 1800s. This industry was greatly controlled by Carnegie. This man now controlled who got to improve and make factories since these factories were made of steel.
  • British unions win right to strike.

    These unions formed by underclass workers fought Parliament to treat them better and get more money. These strikes succedded and the lower class won the battle.
