The Legislative Assembly

Napolean Bonaparte took the throne from the Directory. In doing this, he created a new government made up of consuls. This gave Napolean a ton of power. This is very important because Bonaparte had his own ideas for the government. -

Napolean Bonaparte was very proud of his new ideas for the government. His ideas became the Napoleonic Code. In his code people didn't get very much liberty, personal freedoms were not really given, and slavery was approved of. This was important because it set up new ideas that people might disagree with, causing rebellion.
