  • Lexington and Concord

    America lost at Lexington so they went to Concord and battled which led to victory.

  • Bunker Hill

    The British defeated the Americans at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts.

  • Battles of Saratoga

    After a long week of negotiation Burgoyne surrendered his army. The Battle of Saratoga was a turning point for America because it showed France that Americans can win a war.

  • Burgoyne’s Blundering Invasion

    Burgoyne came up with a plan to command a force moving south from Canada to split away New England and end the rebellion. Burgoyne found himself trapped by superior American forces with no relief, so he retreated to Saratoga and surrendered his entire army.

  • Trenton

    George Washington crossed the Delaware River and captured 1,000 Hessian soldiers.

  • Battle of Yorktown

    General George Washington led an army of 17,000 French and Continental troops against British. Virginia marked the conclusion of the last major battle in the American Revolution.

  • Treaty of Paris

    Great Britain and representatives of the United States of America on September 3, 1783, officially ending the American Revolutionary War.
