Steve Jobs briefly worked as an engineer at Atari.
After dropping out of Reed College, Steve decided to get his feet wet by taking a job at Atari Computers. At the time Atari had dominated the computer gaming world and was very profitable. This experience gave Steve a view into the real world and was important to his successes. -
Apple Computers was founded.
On April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple. At the time, the unknown computer company operating out of a garage in Los Altos California. Steve Jobs bought Lucas Film, which later became Pixar Studios.
In 1986, Steve Jobs bought out an unknown company, Lucas Film. At the time this company was fairly small, selling at around 10 million dollars. The company later became Pixar studios and was worth a staggering 7.4 billion dollars. Jobs once said, "I’m as proud of many of the things we haven’t done as the things we have done. Innovation is saying no to a thousand things." His words go to show how although he had been successful in many aspects, he would never stop innovating. -
Steve Jobs married Laurel Powell.
After meeting Laurel Powell at a Stanford Lecture in 1989, Steve married her. Apple introduced the Ipod along with Itunes.
In 2001, Apple introduced the Ipod along with its software called Itunes. At the time, music had never been streamed and Itunes was an unheard of application. In 2006, Disney bought Pixar Studios. This purchase went on to make Steve one of the wealthiest portfolios in the world. Apple released the Iphone.
The release of the Iphone is arguably one of Steve's greatest accomplishment. This was the first legitimate smartphone ever released. Steve Jobs died at age 56.
After a long fought battle for over 8 years with cancer, Jobs died at his home in 2011. He died at his home with his children and wife beside him. His death was heard around the world and was a huge loss to many. Steve had said, "My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time."
