Slavery started back in 1619 20 enslaved Africans were brought into Jamestown, Virginia and that's where it all started. In the 1700s in Virginia, white people made it hard for Black people because they were enslaved and they were poorer than them. The white people enslaved the Black race.slaves where transported on boats where the were forced to lay head to toe locked up in chains and they slept on the dirty floor many slaves died on the way from africa to Jamestown,Virginia -
.As a result of the rebellion african americans were beaten, violated, and sexually exploited. In addition to this, they started segregating black and whites. This changed society by making racism okay because they separated white people from black people by giving indentured white servants more rights than black people. They did this to avoid another rebellion of white and black people. -
In 1865 president Abraham Lincoln declared that all persons held as slaves within the rebellious states shall be free even then president Lincoln still kept a few slaves that continued to work for him under his belt in that same year they were free president Lincoln came up with the 13th amendment there was many others who stood by president Lincoln like Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. -

It proves my thesis because segregation is still around today.black and white people couldn't even use the same bathrooms, classrooms, or water fountains.they weren’t even allowed to sit next to a white person.
