The PowerBook 140 was the middle-range model in the series. It included an internal floppy drive. The PowerBook 170 had a faster 25 MHz Motorola 68030, and better quality than the PowerBook 140, and was the high-end model of the series. It was the only model in the series with an active matrix display.
