    From 1919 to 1923 Ho began to show an interest in politics while living in France, influenced by his friend and comrade from the Socialist Party of France Marcel Cachin. In Paris he joined the Groupe des Patriotes Annamites (The Group of Vietnamese Patriots). Little by little he added the ideology of Marxism to his political thought: he joined the Socialist Party and, later, the Communist Party.He also participated in the founding congress of the latter party in December 1920
