  • Colonization

    Many people during this era were leaving Europe and going to America.
  • Slavery in America

    Many slaves were coming from the transatlantic slave trade and were working the south.
  • French and Indian War

    Began in 1754, but the war was not declared until 1756. The French and Natives of North America fought as allies against the British.
  • The stamp act

    Passed by the British Parliament. The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used.
  • American Revolution

    The American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies won independence from Great Britain, becoming the United States of America.
  • Revolutionary wars

    Many important battles including the battle of Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, Saratoga, etc.
  • Trail of tears

    tens of thousands of Native Americans were being moved to reservations.
  • Reconstruction

    The 13th amendment is passed which frees enslaved African Americans.

    Invented the assembly line which made it easier and cheaper for cars to be made. Invented the widespread car called the model .
  • Creation of the NBA

    The NBA was created in 1946 because the two leagues, Basketball Association of America (BAA) and National Basketball League (NBL) merged.
