Britain launched a brand new style of battleship, the Dreadnought. Britain spent millions of pounds staying ahead in the "Naval Race" with Germany. The British people hated paying the taxes for the ships so they hated the Germans too. -

Austria- Hungary and Russia rivaled one another for influence. -
The Panter
Germany and France were clashing over Morocoo, again. France started expanding the control over the region, so Germany sent a gunboat, the Panter. Britain sided with France, and Germany was forced to back down. -
Balkan Wars
Russia and Austria clashed over the Balkans again. The Balkan Wars saw Serbia- a close friend of Russia- emerge as the most powerful country in the Balkans. Austria was determind to crush Serbia. -

Irish Rebellion
During WWI Irish nationalist staged a major rebellion in Dublin. The British put down the rebellion, but the harsh punishments fueled the desire of independance, which was achieved in 1921.
