    Great Britain taxed every legal document.. newspaper, or anything that was published or distributed. Great Britain took advantage of the US, the US didn’t like how they could take money and having no one stand up for them.

    The first battle that started the revolutionary war. The first time the colonists fought back against Britain to be separated from them.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The declaration is important to us history because it was the day that Americans got freedom. Americans got freedom from England.
  • Americans win the revolution

    After the fight at Yorktown the war was over. This is important because we became the US after.
  • Constitution was written

    It made a beginning structure for the government. This was the beginning of federal law, which made a new government. Set up three different branches.

    The first amendment is individual freedom of rights. It gives people the ability to have freedom of speech.

    A battle between the north and south over rights and slaves. The south would try be pull way and be themselves.

    People that went out west were able to claim land. It gave people the power to own land, and find other things as well.

    A very bloody war, 50,000 dead within 3 days. The south had no chance of winning after that.

    “In god we trust” was used on money. America was founded on Christianity because it gave people something to believe in other than a person.

    The 13th amendment was passed, that abolished slavery. After that having a slave was not okay, and slaves began their life.

    Connected western to eastern usa. First railroad to go far and was able to take things.
  • Laissez-faire

    More freedom to the US, brought up through the economy. This allows our country to do good and not feel restrained.
