    This time period was a great time for the tourism industry. Pilgrims travelled far and wide to become closer to their spiritual self. Places of accommodation so hotels, inns and motels made a lot of money accommodation these pilgrims as did peddlars who would sell "relics".

    Tourism was effected greatly by the Industrial Revolution. steam train and steam engines (steam boats) were invented making travelling to and from countries towns and cities etc safer and easier.
