    Macintosh 128K Launched
    Steve Jobs of Apple Inc develops and releases the first Apple Mac computer, the Mackintosh 128K. This was the very first personal computer that featured integral graphical user interface and mouse.

  • Macintosh Plus released

    Macintosh Plus released
    The Macintosh Plus made available the use of the floppy disk, thus increasing capacity to 800KB, something previously unavailable to personal computers. it also featured 1MB of RAM and external SCSI port. Fun fact: This model was succesful immediantly and actually remained in production, unchanged until 1990. This was so far the Apple's longest running model.

    Macintosh II
    This was the first Macintosh to include a colour screen, 20MB hard disk and moniter. All previous models had been all-in-one devices, however this model included a separate moniter and case. This allowed internal expansion. In congunction with Motorola, Apple began using their updated CPU's to make possible faster computer connection. Fun Fact: the model was initally nicknamed "Little Big Mac" however this was soon changed to the "Macintosh II".
  • Macintosh Classic

    Macintosh Classic
    The Macintosh Classic was released to due increasing pressure from Microsoft, who had now released the cheaper priced, comparable in performance Windows 3.0. Apple had seen a decrease in profits and decided to adjust accordingly. Therefore, the Macintosh Classic was born. This was the first time a Mac had dropped to three figures: $999. Fun Fact: Up until 2001, the Macintosh Classic was the least expensive Mac released.
  • Macintosh Powerbook 140

    Macintosh Powerbook 140
    The Macintosh Powerbook 140 was one of the first laptop comptuers released by Apple. This computer featured an internal floppydisk drive. The other lines of original Powerbooks (100 and 170) were not a popular as the 140 and the 140 is the primary notebook computer created by Apple. Fun Fact: the 100 was actually minimised by Sony from the Macintosh Portable, so even though the 100 and 140 were released in the same line, only the 140 can lay claim to the first Apple notebook computer.
  • iMac G3

    iMac G3
    On Steve Jobs' return to Apple, he knew that the company needed to be revamped and revolutionised as Apple was losing the battle of technology to Microsoft. Hence, the iMac G3 was launched. This model featured the original 'Bondi Blue' colour with many other additonal colours to follow. Apple also removed its standard connections in favour of two USB ports. It also replaced the floppy disk drive with CD-ROM drive. Fun Fact: The new model actually saved Apple from financial ruin!
  • Power Mac G4

    Power Mac G4
    Apple released this desktop comuter in 1999, it is the first model to boot exclusively to Mac OS X. Apple touted this as the first personal 'supercomputer' because it was able to reach speeds of 4 to 20 gigaflops. A big feat of the time. Fun Fact: This was the final Macintosh to be able to boot both Classic Mac OS and the newer Mac OX S.
  • iMac G4

    iMac G4
    the iMac G4 was the first apple computer to feature a LCD flatscreen. This newer technology replaced the egg shape of the coloured Imac G3 and the desgin was minimalist, urban and more proffessional looking than previous models. Fun Fact: the arm feature allowed the screen to hold almost any angle the user wanted!
  • MacBook Pro

    MacBook Pro
    The MacBook Pro was a laptop computer that preceeded the PowerBook laptop line. This new line featured Intel core processors and was originally sold in aluminium cases, later to be replaced by unibody aluminium chassis. It premiered the MagSafe power charger. Fun Fact: The MacBook Pro is now in its third generation!
  • Intel iMac

    Intel iMac
    Steve Jobs's announcing that Apple would be changing to Intel chips for the first time produced the Intel iMac. This started the six month transition from the previous 'PowerPC' to 'Intel' Processors. Although the desgin has since been changed, it still features the flat screen silhouette. Fun Fact: The Intel iMac, athough obviously having been updated, is still a featured line of Apple computers to this day.
  • MacBook Air

    MacBook Air
    This laptop model was released as the ultra portable notebook comptuer. A light, thin design was made appealing to the public. It has revelutionised powerful laptops, now known as "ultrabooks". Air models use Solid-State drive storage and Intel Core i5 or i7 central proccessing units. This line also contiues to still be in production, along with the MacBook laptop. Fun Fact: In more recent times, the MacBook Air has become the best selling Macintosh computer.
  • iPad tablet

    iPad tablet
    the iPad was Apple's first multitouch screen tablet, including a virtual keyboard. This model also runs Apple's iOS system. the iPad includes inbuilt wi-fi and perfroms many functions such as taking photos, email, shooting videos, playing music,. Also GPS navigation, social networking and others than can be accessed by downloading the appropiate apps. Fun Fact: Although now in its second generation the iPad line is still available and flourishing.
  • iPad mini

    iPad mini
    Ipad mini was the first mini tablet computer released by Apple. It featured a smaller screen size of 7.9 inches compared to the larger tablets of 9.7 inches. It featured the same screen resalution as the prevous models and similar specifications and storage. However, much more portable and more compact than the previous iPad. Fun Fact: the iPad mini is now in its second generation!

    iPad Air
    The iPad Air is the fifth generation in the original iPad tablet line. The Air is currently the latest model original iPad on the market. was released in 'space grey' an silver colours and also with a thinner design, and many similarities to the iPad mini. It has the 64-bit Apple A7 proccessor with M7 coprossesor. It was promoted as thinner, faster and lighter than its previous model. Fun Fact: This iPad model is the latest to date of the iPad lines.
