Fessenden plays his violin, sings a song, and reads a verse out of the bible on his new wireless invention. The first broadcast was on Christmas Eve.

    First Patent on the Electromechanical Television
    at the age of 21 Philo T. Farnsworth had succeeded in transmitting an image through purely electronic means by using an image dissector. At the age of 13 he envisioned a contraption would receive an image that would be transmitted from a remote location-television. He brought his invention to the New York World's Fair showcase to display it, but then soon was put up for sale for the public.

    William S. Paley used the funds from his father's cigar company to invest in the struggling company of CBS. A year later his family bought shares of the company giving him more control of CBS. He transformed the company financially and instead of paying the bills they advertised for commercial sponsers. The company then added entertainment news such as sports, celebrities, travel, etc.

    Two stations were created in the U.S. and permitted commercial advertising. Any broadcasting before the date of the first day of Television was considered "experitmental". The first game show was "Truth or Consequences". The first show or program aired was the baseball game between brooklyn dodgers and Philadelphia. The first newscaster was Lowell Thomas for Sunoco Oil.

    John Logie Baird had created several inventions, such as the glass safety razor and pneumatic soles for shoes. But his inventions failed, except fot one which was the transfer of an image of a maltese in color to his TV. He then showed his invention of color TV in London, Englad, and the viewer were fascinated of the colors he could capture. This became a major turning point for television history.

    this was the day marked as the beginning of International Geophysical Year. Scietist around the world gathered around to watch this worldwide phenomena. Sputnik was the first satelitle launched by the Soviet union. This satelite would soon be used not only for scietific discovery but multimedia all around the world.

    The assassination of John F. Kennedy was aired on November 24, 1963. Lee Harvey Oswald was transferred to jail head quaters two days before it was aired on television. Hundreds of cameras surrounded the scene and captured the moment.

    on June 1, Ted Turner and his team launch cable new network for the first time. It then became a 24-hour news broadcasting channel that only offered straight forward news. The network offered political and financial news from all over the US for the public to view. Ted claims that the network will not be turning off until the world ends.

    The first anchors for CNN were Dave Walker and Lois Hart. They were a married couple from 1979. They anchored CNBC Mornings, Money Wheel and America's Vital Signs. Many people tuned in to watch their shows because of how their reports were newsworthy. They made Television history when they anchored in 1980.

    The Fox News channel started in 1996 by Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes. The goal was to have a channel that balanced reporting, and collected facts from all sides. FOX is a 24-hour general news service covering breaking news such as political, business and entertainment news. The O'Reilly Factor became a most viewed show on FOX by the elderly.

    On september 11, 2002, the massive terrorist attack on the U.S. became the most terrific news in American History. Over 3,000 lives were lost on American soil that day. Hundreds of fire fighters and police officers did not stop until they could save as many lives as possible, some perished in this process. This event lead to war between the terrorits and Americans.
