    The Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975

    “On November 19, 1975, Congress enacted Public Law 94-142, also known as The Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975,” (Wright, n.d.). Congress proposed that all students with disabilities, no matter how small or how sever, would “have a right to education, and to establish a process by which State and local educational agencies may be held accountable for providing educational services for all handicapped children,” (Wright, n.d.).

    Board of Education of the Hendrick Hudson Central School District vs. Rowley (1982)

    This case involved a deaf student named Ann Rowley, who was entering first grade. The parents who were also deaf felt that their daughter was not getting an appropriate education because the school did not provide an interpreter for Ann.
