While studying the wild boy of aveyron, Itard determined that with educational intervention children with disablilites may see an improvments. -
Binet-Simon Scale
Binet and Simon collaborated to design a sclae on which to measure intellegence. -
EAHCA
The Education for All Handicapped Children Act was enacted, We now know this as IDEA. It said that all children with disabilities were entitled to a free and appropriate education between the ages of 6 and 21. -
Roncker v. Walter
This was the first inclusion case. Its' ruling stated that if a child could be educated in a non-segregated setting the same was they are in a segregated one, they must not be segregated. -
EAHCA reauthorization
EAHCA is reauthorized to include preschool children ages 3 to 5. -
IDEA
EAHCA was changed to IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) -
ADA
The Americans with Disabilites Act was enabled. -
No Child Left Behind
No Child Left Behind was enacted. It said that all students must be profictient in math and english. -
State ex. rel Beattie v. Board of Education
In this case it was decided that is was ok to exclude a boy with cerebral palsy from education.
