    Markus Persson creates the “Cave Game,” a thing before minecraft that inspired minecraft.

  • Minecraft is almost done

    Development of Indev ends. Indev is succeeded by Infdev, which stands for Infinite Development.

  • Minecraft PE is released

    Minecraft has sold over 12 million copies in the US,
    and over 33 million copies everywhere in the world.

  • minecraft pocket edition

    Minecraft Pocket Edition is released as an Xperia Play exclusive on the Android Market (now Google Play).

  • minecraft for mobile devices

    Minecraft PE is made available for all compatible devices.

  • Minecraft becomes known

    Minecraft leaves beta, entering Version 1.0.

  • minecraft for more than a computer

    Minecraft for the Playstation is announced.
