Microsoft releases their first version of windows. A graphical user interface using operating system. Although not a complete operating system it included programs such as Windows Paint; Windows Write, a simple word processor; an appointment calendar; a card-filer; a notepad; a clock; a control panel; a computer terminal; Clipboard; a RAM driver, MS-DOS Executive and a game called Reversi.

Microsoft releases Windows 2.0 which is popular mainly due to its use of "run-time version" using the graphical programs Exel and Word for Windows.
