    In March of 2004, Stanford, Colombia, and Yale were added to the Facebook network.

    During the summer of 2004, Facebook was incorporated. Also, Sean Parker became the company president. Additionally, Facebook's home base was moved to Palo Alto, California.

  • Facebook for high schoolers

    In September of 2005, Facebook developed a high-school version of the social network. The high school network was much different than the university version because an invitiation was required to join. Later in 2005, Facebook opened its membership up to many companies and businesses.

    On September 26, 2005, Facebook opened its membership to everyone age 13 and older who held a vaild email address.

    On October 24, 2007, Facebook sold a 1.6% share of the company to Microsoft for $240 million. With this sale, Facebook's total worth was around $15 billion. Microsoft's purchase allowed the company to put international ads on Facebook.
