    Spreading of the institutionalization
    Institutionalization, a movement which separated all people with disabilities and trapped them in dirty, isolated places. It started in 1981, however, was strongly spreading from 1982 and ended in 1999. This act was a type of discrimination, started from the United States, and spread into Canada. It was a crime that they needed to suffer the physical, sexual and emotional abuse.

    The event happened in 1960 and it last until 1985. It was the second movement of feminism to get the equality and change the thought of society. In result, women are now not discriminated and have the equal law.
  • Montreal Massacre

    Montreal Massacre
    On December 6, 1989, because of the hatred of feminism, Marc Lépine shot and killed 14 women, injured 13 other people. After that, he suicided. With mourning and respectful, Canadian made some monuments in Toronto, Moncton, Vancouver, and Montréal. Moreover, every year, there would be the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on December 6 to memorize​ the women who died in the event.

    Deinstitutionalization movement was the response of the institutionalization which started in the United States and spread to Canada. Disabled people formed a group, tried to get out of the mental hospital and joined the community. In result, many people could be free. However, some institutions are built for disabled people, and about 900 people are still trapped.

    The United States was being attacked by the terrorists on September 11, 2001. They hijacked the planes and crashed them into the Wolrd Trade Center and the Pentagon. It was significant that almost 3000 people died and caused the war between the United State and Afghanistan. Moreover, it brought fear to all the Americans. The World Trade Center was utterly destroyed after the event, and many newspapers wrote about it.

    Canada was sending planes to help the American after the event. In Canadian's perspective, the assistance shows the good-hearted and deserving of being the "peacekeeper".

    Stephen Harper, the 22nd prime minister of Canada, who introduced about the Bill C-15 that affected many acts included the Indian Act and some other environment acts. Moreover, the Bill was proposed to help the government to do some business activities easier and minimize the right of First Nation. It was significant that the discrimination still exists even today and it led to many protests after the introduction.

    Idle No More Movement
    Jessica Gordon, Sylvia McAdam, Sheelah McLean, and Nina Wilson were talking about the Bill C-15 and decided to make a group name "Idle No More" in Facebook to protest against the Bill. It was created in November 2012 which got respond from people not only in Canada but also in the United States, France, England, and Greenland.They wanted to fight for the environment and their own right. However, the movement did not successful but still made the government to discuss again.
