    The Battle of Thermopylae

    The Battle of Thermopylae
    On September 10, 480 BC the battle in central Greece at the mountain pass of Thermopylae took place during the Persian wars. The Greek forces, mostly remained of Spartans, were led be Leonidas. The Persian were able to outflank the Greeks. The main army of the Greeks retreated and Leonidas and a small group stayed behind to resist the advance and were defeated.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    On June 11, 1776 in the Independence Hall, Philadelphia, PA Tomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R., and John Adams where assigned to write the Declaration of Independence. On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed by many of Congress to give Britain to show that want to separate from them and explain that they have the right to revolution.

    Louisiana Purchase
    On May 2, 1803 the third United States president Thomas Jefferson made a purchase from Napoleon the leader of France. This purchase gave the United States the Louisiana Territory, which more than double the size of United States and gave them full control of the Mississippi River. This was a big milestone for Western Movement or Expansion.

    Lewis and Clark Expedition
    On May 14, 1804 Lewis and Clark lead a group of people to the west to explore the land from the Louisiana Purchase. Clark was able to make accurate maps of the land and Lewis "discovered" 400+ species of plants and animals. This trip ended on Sep 23, 1806.

    On March 7, 1876 Alexzander Graham Bell made the first telephone ever. three days later Bell successful transmitted the first speech into the telephone, he said "Mr. Watson, come here". Alexander Graham Bell won the first U.S. patent for the device in 1876.

    On the morning of Tuesday, Sep 11, 2001 their were a series of four terrorist attacks made by the Islamist terrorist group Al-Qaeda aimed toward the United States. Two had hit the twin towers collapsing them, one hit the Pentagon, the last one hit Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

Some of the records that were broke were both teams combining for the most first downs passing and the game also featured the fewest punts in a game with just one.
