    This was an expedition to explore the south. It was issued by Thomas Jefferson shortly after the Louisiana purchase. It lasted around 2 years.

    The Missouri Compromise was a compromise between the North and South. It was a result of Congress attempting to preserve balance of power. Missouri was admitted as a slave state, and Maine as a free state.

    This was a series of violent outbreaks between pro-slavery Southerners and anti-slavery Northerners. It sparked the Civil War, and lasted from 1855 to 1861

    The Civil War was a war between the Union and the Confederates. It was a battle over slavery and the balance of powers. It was won by the Union and the treaty was signed May 9th, 1865.

    Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 15th, 1865. The assassination occurred at Ford's theater, and the killer was John Wilkes Booth.
