    "Common Sense" was written in 1776.
    "Common Sense" was written by Thomas Paine.
    The main purpose for "Common Sense" was to inspire people in the 13 colonies to declare and fight for independence from great britain.
    "Common Sense" was a failure. This was suppose to stop the wars, but all it did was inflamed them and the wars grew bigger.

    After a brief battle, nearly the entire hessian force was captured with negligible losses of Americans.

    The goal was to cut New England colonies off from the rest.
    Britain's plan came from 3 directions: From canada, 8,000 move south capturing forts along the way.
    Another plan is: From the west, a smaller force would go through Mohawk Valley.
    The last plan is: From the south, General Howe would lead a large army up the Hudson. They failed because they surrendered.
    The americans won because they surrendered.

    The conditions were horrible. Cold, wet and snowy. They didnt have warm clothes or shoes.

They would sometimes have to fight too. The most famous batte was The Battle Of Flamborough. During that war, John Paul Jones won. A privateer is- A privatly owned armed vessel. Commisioned by hostile nation to carry on Naval warfare.
