    Elvis Presley's First Hit Song
    His first number one song was "Heartbreak Hotel". It was in the top 100 on the Billboard list and was at the top for atleast seven weeks. It was one of the best-sellers. In 1995, "Heartbreak Hotel" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame
  • The Vietnam War

    Known as one of the longest wars. It all started when Ho Chi Minh and his communist party rose to power. The Americans went over in 1969, and by 1973 they were out. The war ended in 1975 with 3 million people dead and 58,000 were Americans.
  • Integration of Alabama Schools

    Integration of Alabama Schools
    Brown vs Board of Education was a trial to integrate schools. Brown felt that everyone should have equal education. White people stopped sending their children to school in protest and would stand outside of schools with racist signs

    Assasinated in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas at a presidential motorcade. After a ten month investigation, people concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald killed the president. They couldn't find out any other information because shortly after Oswald was murdered by Jack Ruby

    The protests started in 1964 and grew stronger over 8 years. Anyone who was against the war would protest in Washington DC. They felt that all of our troops should come home because they shouldn't have been involved in the first place. The protests could be peaceful and nonviolent, to extreamly violent at any point and time.
  • The Black Panther Party

    The Black Panther Party
    An organization for self-defense that started in 1966 and ended in 1982. It was started to protect the black neighborhood and attracted a multi-racial community. In 1967, they came out with a newspaper called "The Black Panther". In Sacramento, California the BPP marched in the ban of weapons.

    People protested for peace and to end the war. They had many different anti-war protests. They dared to be different and didn't care what people thought of them.
  • Assasination of Bobby Kennedy

    Brother of John F. Kennedy, shot on June 5th and admitted into the hospital at midnight. Passed away on June 6th in Los Angeles, California. He was assasinated by a Palestinian immigrant named Sirhan Sirhan. Bobby was layed in the Arlington National Cemetary close to JFK

    On May 15th, 1972, Arthur Bremer tried to kill George Wallace . While at a presidential campaign, Wallace was shot four times. He wasn't the only one injured in the attempt, there were three others who were hit.
