This lead to the war because it stured people up again about slavery. It affected the south by changing some of theier views on slaves and shows how they are affecting the slaves lives. It affected the north by showing them how they relate and other people relate to them and the hope they change their opinions.

John Brown lead 22 men to capture federal arsenal in harpers ferry Virginia. He belived that slaves would see and go on riot with him. He was then captured and sentenced to be hanged and was turned into a martyr.
