  • Martial Law

    Aboriginal people were not considered citezens and therefore was not considered a criminal offnce to hunt shoot and kill them. The general belief was that indigenous people would eventually 'die out'.
    As a result, the indegenous population suffered a massive decline in numbers, land was converted in to farm lands.

  • Aboriginal Protection Act

    • These acts gave protection to abpriginal people while governing where they could live and work and whou they could marry. Under the NSW act, gave the government the power to remove children from their families and place them in missions.
