    Founded by the Emporer Gaozu of Han. It was only briedfly interuppted by the Xin Dynasty. The Han ruled by merit, and people only were able to join the government after passing a series of examintation questions. To remain in control of china, the Han's had to harshly tax their people, and the poor citizens were hit the hardest. This and civil war led to the downfall of the Han Dynasty. This dynasty contributed alot to science, art, and philosphy and it is an important part of China's history.

The people began to trade with the Vikings to the north and west and the Byzanine Greeks to the south and west.Architecture was a major deal in Kiev Rus' Major cathedrals often featured scores of small domes, which led some art historians think Slavic temples should have looked like. Death of Yaroslav the wise ended the Golden Age.

The Southern Song was when they lost control of northern china to the Jin Dynasty. This dynasty developed the first rendition of gunpowder, and they used it to defend against the Jin dynasty and the Mongols. Their defense angainst the mongols however, did not last. They were conquered by Kublai Khan and his golden horde.
