In 1201 Temüjins old friend Jamukha was elected as Gür Khan (Universal Ruler). That was the breaking point for them and they started a war. By 1206 all the other mongol tribes had either fallen or were united with his Mongol Confederacy. This never before achieved Union were called The Mongols. In 1211 after the conquest of Western Xia Genghis planned to conquer the eastern Jin Dynasty. After 10 years of fighting the Xia and Jin Dynasties, Khans army was tired, but he wanted to finish conquering the tribes to the west so he set his sites on what remained of the Western Liao Dynasty. After conquering the neighboring Dynasties Genghis saw the potential of the Silk Road and wanted to begin a trading partnership with the neighboring wealthy Khwarazmian Empire to the west. After Conquering the Khwarazmian Empire Genghis Khan split all his soldiers into 2 armies. Genghis would take half of his men down through Afghanistan and Northern India back to Mongolia and the other half would be led by 2 of his generals North into Russia and back to Mongolia.
