    Genghis Kan was born in North Mongolia and named "Temujin" after a Tartar cheiftain that his father, Yesukhei, had captured. Young Temujin was a member of the Borjigin tribe and descendent of Khabul Khan.Temujin was born with a blood clot in his left hand which was a sign in Mongol folktale that he was destined to be a leader.

    Temujian father Yesukhei, died after being poisoned at a conciliatory meal that he was invited to by a rival Tatar tribe for past transgression against the Tartars. After his fathers death Temujian killed his half brother confirming his postion as head of family. At 16 Temujian married Borte cementing the alliance between the Konkirat tribe and his own. Temujian rescued her and soon after she gave birth to her first son Jochi.

    Defeating the Taichi'ut's.

    When Temujian was 20 he was captured and temporarly enslaved by former family allies Taichi'uts. He escaped with the help of a sympathetic captor. To "revenge" he built a large army of more than 20,000 men. He wanted to destroy traditional divisions among various tribes and unite Mongols under his rule. Temujian avenged his fathers death by decimating the Tartar army. Taichi'uts were defeated by the Mongol and boiled alive all the Taichi'ut cheifs.

    Temujian had also defeated the Powerful Naiman tribe. Genghis Kahn employed a spy network. The well trained Mongol army of 80,00 men coordinated their advance with a sophisticated signaling system of smoke and burning torches.The entire army was followed by a well-organized supply system of wagons that carried food for soldiers and as well as military equipment, shamans for medical aid, and officials.

    Genghis and his mongol army of 200,000 ended the Khwarizm Dynasty by sweeping through every city and killing every living things including children and animals. In the time of the conquest of Genghis Khan added more trade centers of China and Europe. Khan made a egal code known as Yassa. This code was based on Mongol common law. But prohibited adultery, theft and bearing false witness. After destroying the Khwarizm Dynasty, Genghis Khan then ended the Tangut lineage.

    The Death of Genghis Khan.

    Genghis Khan died in 1227. The cause of his death was unkown. Genghis Khan was buried without markings, according to the customs of his tribe, somewhere near his birthplace close to the Onon River and the Khentii Mountains in northern Mongolia.
