    Genghis Khan was born in the year ll62. His name was originally Temujin.

    Father is poisoned

    Khan's father was poisoned when Ghengis was only ten years old. Shortly after, Genghis became the head of the household. Having to step up to lead the family would help witrh Khan's leadership skills that would be useful later on in his life.

    Temujin Marries Borte

    Temujin marries Borte, and they have four sons and an unknown number of daughters. When Borte was kidnapped, Temujin rescued her, which created his reputation as a warrior.

    Creation of the Written Language of the Mongols

    Genghis Khan assigned one of his Uyghur retainers to develop a written language. This was one of Genghis' four legacies.

    Genghis Khan united the many nomadic tribes into one confederacy. After this, there was a meeting of the Khuriltai, and they gave Temujin the title of Genghis Khan
