The second generation computers were used during 1957-1963. They are also known as transistor computers. The second generation of computers consists of two types of devices, transistors, and magnetic core. Made by John Bardeen (1908–1991), William B. Shockley (1910–1989), and Walter H

The period of third generation was from 1965-1971. The computers of third generation used Integrated Circuits (ICs) in place of transistors. A single IC has many transistors, resistors, and capacitors along with the associated circuitry. The IC was invented by Jack Kilby.

After third-generation computers, which mostly utilized microprocessors, fourth-generation computers were released in 1972. In 1971, Intel released the 4004 microprocessor and the Fourth Generation of computers had begun. :)

Finally the computers we have now 5th Generation Computer! Who made the 5th Generation Computers? Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry made them in 1982. In the fifth generation, VLSI technology became ULSI (Ultra Large Scale Integration) technology, resulting in the production of microprocessor chips having ten million electronic components. This generation is based on parallel processing hardware and AI (Artificial Intelligence) software.
