    Future Ready 2020

  • What is the Vision?

    What is the Vision?
21st century and future-ready learning needs to have a clear and precise plan created in order to remain focused, cost effective, and ultimately create the transformation we seek. This plan is in the works for SJUSD and has been for many years. During this school year the plan must be unveiled and communicated well to all stakeholders.
  • Professional Development is a Must!

    Professional Development is a Must!
If teachers are going to lead the 21st century educational transformation, then they must be supported and prepared to lead the cause. Digital literacy professional development must come before any significant transformation in the way students learn can truly happen. This will be a year of supporting teachers.
  • Devices Used to Change Instruction

    Devices Used to Change Instruction
While students access computers often and have them readily available, teachers are still learning to incorporate them effectively to CHANGE the way instruction occurrs, not just supplement the traditional lesson format. Students are given high level DOK questions and reflective prompts to lead their own learning through the use of technolgoy.
  • Strengthened Partnerships

    Strengthened Partnerships
Without community partnerships true educational transformation cannot occur. SJUSD will strengthen and expand all CCR partnerships. For example, the manufacturing, health, biomedical and architectural engineering corporations will enter into articulation agreements with us to prepare for CCR pathways of the future.
  • CCR Pathways Find True Success

    CCR Pathways Find True Success
Students are completely emerged in College and Career pathways that have them exploring future college and career opportunities as early as middle school. Students explore careers in 8th and 9th grade, they visit and specialize their interests in 10th grade. They job shadow in 11th grade & by 12th grade are placed into internships of their choice to prepare them for true hands-on and technical learning opportunities. These pathways will be rich with STEM curriculum and technical skills!
  • Future Ready Classrooms Are The Norm!

Future Ready Classrooms Are The Norm!
Traditional classrooms are gone! No desks, as we know them, are present. Each classroom is designed as makerspace areas, with mobile devices available for research and computer graphic arts, as well as 3D printing. Students are collaborating and building at work stations. Teacher is a facilitator.
