Bus Accident
In September 17, 1925 Kahlo and her boyfriend from that time suffered a bus accident. She suffered fatal injuries. An iron handrail went through her pelvis, she had several fracture ribs, broken legs, as well as back injuries. This accident was the cause of many surgeries throughout her life and a lot of pain. -
Recovering
By the end of 1927, Frida began to recover. She started to socialize again with old friends from her university who were now really involved in politics. She joined the Mexican Communist Party and joined the circle of political activists and artists. -
Diego Rivera
After recovering and trying to go back to normal, in a party she was introduced to someone who would change her life. She was introduced to Diego Rivera, one of Mexico's most successful artists and a notable figure in the Communist Party. -
Marriage
Diego and Frida got married and they began a complicated relationship. They both had affairs and were together back on and off. Diego became Frida's biggest accident after the bus crash. -
Death
After being ill for so long, Frida could not continue fighting the pain. In July 13 1954 her nurse found her dead in bed.
