The news was celebrated with marching with parades and fire works. But Britain needed money. King Gearge III insisted the Britian had the right to tax colonists.

He saw two lanterns lit which meant that the Bristish were coming by sea .He rode his horse to Lexington to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock and the other colonists that the British were going to attack.

    George Washington was going to surround the British.The French joined in the battle by water . Washington saw that they could trap the British at Yorktown . Every day the cannons pounded the British . On October 19, Cornwallis surrendered his army to Washington. The Americans defeated the mighty British.
