  • Boston Tea Party

    It was a political protest where the Sons of Liberty dumped a bunch of tea into the harbor. The reason why they threw the tea was due to the British for imposing the "Taxation without representation."
  • The Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The battles of Lexington and Concord were fought between the people of America and Britain. These two fights were the first in the American Revolutionary War. The battle of Lexington was also where the "gunshot heard from round the world" came from.
  • The Declaration of Independence is Signed

    This document is what basically allowed America to be separated from Britain. The paper tells everyone how the people of America wants to no longer be controlled but wants to be their own nation.
  • The Articles of Confederation was Ratified

    When this article was first ratified it served as the building stones for what our government is now. It was approved by all of the 13 states at the second continental congress.
  • The Winter at Valley Forge

    During this time the patriots barely had anything whenever they moved to their winter quarters. They had a shortage of food and clothing and this is where most of the soldiers had lost hope.
  • The Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown was won by the Americans. The reason why them winning it was good was due to the British needing to use the town for a protected harbor.
  • The Constitution is Ratified

    The first constitution was ratified in Delaware while the last one was signed in New Hampshire. The importance that it had was it let the people know about the provisions for their new government.
  • The Presidential Inauguration of George Washington

    This is when the first president of America was decided and would later make even more presidents. This event is important because the executive branch had finally started operations.
  • Washington's Farewell Address

    In his address he offers his advice to the citizens to worry about political parties and such. He also told them that they should remain neutral in all of it.
  • Death of George Washington

    George Washington passed away due to a throat infection. With his death the other political leaders were able to create a new sense of nationality during the time of sorrow.
  • Election Day, 1800

    This was a very important and significant election because one it was the first time that power had transferred over peacefully. This election was between Adams and Jefferson and it was the third election ever held.
  • Marbury vs. Madison

    This event allowed for the court to establish their judicial review. This case made them able to void acts that they didn't seemed to go with the constitution.
