  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    A group called the Sons of Liberty threw tea shipped from Britian into the harbor. They did this to defy the crowns over taxation of the colonist.
    This was seen as the begining of the revolution.
  • Lexington and Concord

    British troops marched their way into Concord to seize an arm cache, Paul Revere sounded the alarm. Causing a confrontation between the redcoats and colonists soon became a battle.
    This was the battle that started the revolutionary war.
  • Declaration of Indepence was signed

    This was the formal declaration of war on Britian for the colonist to get their freedom.
  • The Winter at Valley Forge

    In the summer of 1777 Washington and his troops fought long and hard with a string of losing battles. Washington led his sick troops to Valley Forge where suppiles were very low. More than a quater of his troops were claimed by death.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    George Washington leads a troop of 17000 people to begin siege on Yorktown against General Lord Charles Cornwallis, with 9000 redcoats.
    This was considered the most important battle of the revolutionary war.
  • Ratification of the Constitution

    This was the document that replaced the Articles of Confederation after it was found to be defective. The Constituition allowed the United States to act as a whole.
  • Inauguration of George Washington

    This was the inauguration of the first President of the United States.
  • Washington's Farewell Address

    Washington was not wanting to take a third term as president because he believed that the extended absolute power would corrupt him.
  • Death of George Washington

    It was the death of the first President.
  • Marbury vs. Madison

    Most important case in Supreme Court history because it was the first case to use the principle of judicial review. Where the courts could void out the acts of congress.
