  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    British victory at Bunker Hill came at a terrible price for the British, with nearly half of the 2,200 Redcoats who entered the battle killed or wounded in just two hours of fighting. The patriots sustained over 400 casualties.
  • Battle of Brandywine

    British commander Sir William Howe set out to capture Philadelphia. Instead of marching his troops across New Jersey, he placed his army on board ships, and sailed to Chesapeake Bay. As soon as General George Washington learned about the intentions of Sir William he marched his army to Chadd's Ford, where the road from Chesapeake Bay to Philadelphia crossed Brandywine Creek. Ending in a British Victory.

    The British won. This battle was one of the major battles which took place toward the end of the American Revolutionary War, after the British began to shift their strategic focus to the American Southern Colonies.
