At 24 Leif was able to sail and he was excited. He sailed and sailed they spotted land but Leif would not let them go upon shore.They cept saling and Leif thought they would run out of food but they came upon some islands. He relized they had gone farther than he intended. They had landed in the Hebrides.

Christopher asked King Ferdinand and Queen Elizabeth to sail and they said yes so he got his three ships and set off. On October 11 they spotted land. He thought he had reached Asia. He captured " Indies" and sold them into slavery. The Santa Maria crashed and the Pinta sailed away to try to beat the Pinta so they returned in the Nina on March 15, 1493

Vasco Nunez de Balboa was the first person to circumnavigate the Earth. Balboa hiked and hiked though jungles forests to climb a mountain and look and see another ocean, the Pacific Ocean.

Ferdinand was the first person to circumnavigate the globe. While he was in the Phillipenes, he was killed in a battle and only one of his five ships returned. Eighteen of his two hundred seventy men on one boat returned.

Hernando traveled to South America. He explorered South America and claimed land for Spain in Florida. In Florida they were looking for gold and silver. During his expidition Hernando died.

Alvar and his men landed in Tampa Bay, Florida claiming the land for Spain. There were a lot of hurricanes that killed many of his crew. They sailed to Mexico three rafts sank and only two that carried eighty men. While they were there a lot of them died because there was a cold winter and little food, only four survived. Thoses survivers were enslaved by some nearby Indians. They were set free but was charged for usurping the authority of the King of Spain.

He was banished from Iceland so he sailed to Greenland and settled in it. He decided to go back and tell Iceland about his dicovery. He convinces them that we should settle in Greenland. He died before they finished building the settlement.
