Early Life Introduced to Media
When I was still a toddler, I got easily exposed to television. Only when I got older that I have accessed the remote control because my mother wanted me to be educated and filter the channels I watch. Though my childhood experience with media was not that exciting, I like to imagine it relatively interesting like others. -
Media At A Young Age
At a very young age, media was a very confusing stage of my life. It lead me wondering how media works as a system. As a child, it made me curious of what media really is. How media affect, inspire, entertain or somewhat encourage people. -
Media as a Medium
As I get older, media became my medium of keeping myself socially active. To be updated of news updates and current affairs that is happening, media became very important to me. And even though during this stage I wasn't able to see that, I now realize the transformation given to me by media, on how media made me today. -
Media As An Advantage
During this stage, media became an advantage for me for it made me socially connected to people. I began creating accounts to various social media accounts, and my life changed through the vast changes of the advancement that were provided for me. -
Media Everywhere
During this stage at my life, we started to have Wi-Fi at our home. When this happened, it was easy for me to connect to people and be updated even if I wasn't leaving our house. So, the advancement of this changed my perspective towards media because I was so attached to it. Media was everywhere, from newspapers at our coffee table, gadgets at our sofa, phones at our pockets, television that we seldomly watched, and to computers that we used. -
Socialize. Technology. Connect.
And it was this stage when my eyes were opened through media. Throughout my 13 years of existence, I have a learned many cultures and tradition of other people even though I was not leaving the country. It helped me to be educated and at the same time my were opened to the reality of media and life. -
Media as a Key of Being a True Millenial
Being a True Millenial wasn't very easy to me, though it was easy to connect, though it was easy to socialize, I wasn't that very active when it came to that phase. I was a slow-paced learner to things that made advancements very complicated. A responsible millenial I am, I was very specific on posting and having a key to the internet. Also, Cyber Bullying was very much introduced during this time wherein being knowledgeable of using the internet was demonstrated to me by other people. -
17 years of Experiencing Media Raymund
As Media grew larger, there have been a lot of changes at this stage of my life. I stopped using my Facebook account, amd started using my Twitter account often. The Cyber Bullying Law had improved in various ways, it had people thinking what is and how to be more responsible in being a millenial. The internet grew even larger, massive groups of people had a connection to media. -
A Whole New Age of Media Arise
Facebook wasn't that much of a destination of people using the internet. Instagram and Snapchat earned massive users at this era to present. Media became more toxic as more irresponsible users use this as a diary and a place for bullying other people. Children having accessed pornographic materials and sites. This era made media an unpeaceful environment mostly for us Filipinos because we don't have enough guidance on having a social media account. -
Media Today
Today, media have a large impact to children because at a young age, they have the gateway in accessing media and the internet. A large impact that people around the globe share their cultures, each having a goal. Being a Millenial to this moment was easy after all, not only have I got the hang of it, but I have learned different ways in making myself worthy of using media as a way to connect to other people. And as I age, I will carry what I have learned from the day I knew media.
