Ptolomey Fools Columbus
In western Europe, there is a long-lost map discovered that had been drawn by the geographer Ptolomy. As far as anyone is concerned, it is the best map in the world. This map sparked the idea for Columbus that he could sail from Europe west and hit the coast of Asia. This map was misleading, but still the best of its day. -

Caravels were vry popular choices of ships for Spanish and Portuguese. Thes ships were small and fast, which made them better for exploration. Although they were not good battle ships, there was no need for battle ships when it came to exploration. They could accomodate about 20 sailors. -

In some cases, exploration took care of itself, new diseases and foreign technologies shook the natives and proved better for the explorers. Some of the most important discoveries of all time were made by accident, like the discovery of America. All of these events are connected to eachother. All the technologies, explorers, diseases, couquers, and achievements have created the world today and are what make the world so great. -
Exploration Part 1
Exploration is a very important part of history, without the curiosity and thirst for knowledge America might not be the country that it is today. All of these events listed on the timeline have had major impasts on exploration, whether it was in the New world, or in Europe bettering exploration nowledge. Many new technologies were invernted like guns and Caravels, which made explorers and Conquistadors jobs much easier. There were also old tactics that were made new, like navigation by stars.
