    #It'sTotsOnColonists wanted to be able to fire on the Boston Harbor from atop Bunker and Breed's Hill, which overlooked the Harbor. While working on building trenches atop the hills, the British ambushed the colonists. The colonists were very surprised and low on gunpowder at the time. In the end of the battle, the British took both hills, but lost more than 1000 people, where as the colonists only lost 500. This was the first fight of the American Revolution.

This show of strength and courage from the Americans caused the Spanish and French to become allies with them. For once, the colonies were now looked at as a country worth the fight. They had proven themselves and this changed the fight in their favor.

    #It"sFinallyOverGeneral Cornwallis, from the British troops, moved his troops to the Virginia Coast and set up camp at Yorktown, Chesapeake Bay. Washington decided to put an end to this war. He moved his troops down from Virginia and combined them with allied French troops. They surrounded Cornwallis' troops and eventually made him surrender. This was when the British finally admitted America had won.
