  • The Albany Congress

    The Albany Congress,which was held in Albany,NY, was a meeting that the British called for. The British wanted to agree to cooperate to defend themselves against the French. They also invited the Iroquois to the meeting to form an alliance but the Iroquois refused, because the Iroquois though the French would win the war.

    British,Iroquois,colonists V.S. French,Algonkin,Huron. They did this to gain more land. Also the British won so they gained all of the Frenches land in North America
  • The Treaty of Paris

    Britain and France signed The Treaty Of Paris to end the revolutionary war. After this the French lose all of their land in North America, and the British gained the land in February 1763. The Native Americans also lost a great deal because without the Frenches help the Natives could not stop the British from moving into their lands.

    Pontiac's war

    The last days of the French and Indian war, the leader of the Ottawa nation,Pontiac, formed an alliance with the western Native Americans. In May 1763 they attacked the British forts and settlements throughout the area. Nearly half a dozen western British forts were destroyed, and 2000 backcountry settlers were killed.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Britain wanted to avoid future wars with the Natives on the frontier. They then created the Proclamation of 1763. Which banned colonists from creating settlements on the west side of the Appalachian mountains. This angered colonists so some snuck over the mountains to create settlaments on the west side of the mountains.
  • The Suger Act

    The Suger Act imposed taxes on Suger and molasses products. The colonists protested and smuggled Suger so they didn't have to pay extra for Suger and molasses. If you were caught smuggling you would have harsh punishment.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp act imposed taxes on all paper products such as land titles,all documents, birth certificates,Newspapers,and wills. All colonists could not bypass this tax because they needed these products in their daily lives.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act is to help the British save money so they had the colonists with a home to house one of 10,000 British soldiers. They also had to provide them with food and other supplies. Once again the colonists protested and were angry with the British.
  • The Boston Massacer

    The Boston Massacer was a fight between the colonists and the British troops. Even though the colonists out numbered the troops, the British had guns and muskets, but the colonists only had snowballs,ice,and rocks. The soldiers shot and killed 5 people and wounded 6 people in the crowd.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act was not to add tax to tea but to lower the price of tea! This allowed East India to ship directly to the colonies. This seems like a good thing to some but some colonists were angered with this because this gave the East India Company monopoly on selling British Teas.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was a large crowd of men in the harbor disguised as Native Americans arrived and boarded the ship,then took 3 hours and through 342 cases of tea overboard. They destroyed about 90,000 pounds of tea worth thousands of dollars.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts were obviously intolerable. There was 4 acts in all, and all of them the colonists did not like because they all either strengthened some acts and the British even blocked the main port for all of the colonists food. After these laws were passed the colonists called them The Intolerable Acts because these acts were defiantly intolerable.
  • The Continental Congress

    The Continental Congress took place in Philadelphia 12 of the 13 colonies sent delegates, Georgia was the only colony that did not send representatives. The delegates, John and Samuel Adams form Massachusetts,John Jay from New York,George Washington and Patrick Henry from Virginia, all came to this meeting.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    General Thomas Gage the new governor of Massachusetts sent 700 troops to seize the arms and capture some important colonial leaders. When the troops got to Lexington the Patriots were in a line of 77 minutemen. The British commander ordered the minute men to go home, they refused. The first shot was fired, this was known as the American Revolution. The British opened fire killing 8 Americans. Then a larger battle broke out in Concord 5 miles away, 4,000 Americans shot, 300 British troops dead.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    After the battles of Lexington and Concord the Colonists still did not favor independence.The delegates all met in again Philadelphia. New England wanted to declare independence, but in the middle colonies,had a more moderate group. Almost all of the delegates had to prepare for war, this was the first step to form the army.
  • Battle For Fort Ticonderoga

    This fort in on the southern end of lake Champlain and it protected the water route to Canada. This fort was important for two reasons, one because it was the main water way to Canada. Two was because it held valuable weapons, like cannons. The Americans needed weapons like this to match the powerful weapons that the British had.
  • Battles of Bunker and Breeds hill

    The first and second attacks both failed, but the third attack succeeded,only because the Americans ran out of ammo and had to retreat. The fighting did not solve Britain's problems, like they were hoping, the Americans won, many British soldiers fell wounded or fell dead
  • The Olive Branch Petition

    The First Resolution was called The Olive Branch Petition and was sent to King George from the British stating that all colonists were loyal to the king. The British ask the king to stop all fighting so all disputes between the British and the Colonists could be solved peacefully.
  • Invasion Of Quebec

    The Americans attacked Quebec during a severe snow storm. The attack was turned back. Montgomery was killed, and Arnold was wounded. The Americans stayed outside Quebec until May 1776. When the British landed new forces in Canada, weakened by disease and hunger, the Americans left Canada and gave the British Canada.
  • The British Withdrawal From Boston

    On March 17,1776 The British left Boston by ship and they never , returned. Yes,The Americans won in Boston,but Washington knew that the war was far from over. Britain still had advantages, like they had they had the most powerful navy in the world, and they also had more advanced weapons like cannons.
