    Created after the Treaty of Paris. The Proclamation kept the colonists from moving west of the Appalachian Mountains.

    After the French and Indian War the Treaty of Paris was signed giving up France's land to England.

    George Grenville from parliament enforce the passed the Sugar act which was a tax on sugar and molasses.England was in debt after the French and Indian war. The colonists didn't like the law.

    Required that all legal documents had a stamp. It angered Colonist and was the start of the Sons of Liberty. It was later repealed because of colonial opposition.

    Charles Townshend proposed the program. It was a tax on glass, tea, paper, lead, and paint. The writs of assistance were included as well which gave permission for colonist's homes to be searched without a warrant. The tax money would be used to pay the salaries of governors and judges so they would remain loyal to england. this angered the colonists.

    The same states attended that were at the first and the founding fathers at this one was Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington. They met in Philadelphia. The purpose of their meeting was to decide what to do after Lexington and Concord. They appointed George Washington in charge of the Continental Army and Adopted the Declaration of independance.

    The british were after hidden weapons and the people hiding them. The colonial force was a militia. 400 militiamen and 100 regulars there were a decent number of casualties on both sides. This was the first military engagement of the colonies and great Britain.

    Occurred in Charlestown Massachusetts. The colonist Fought the British on an Adjacent hill the Colonist were on the top of the Hill and the British had to charge up. The colonists lasted two rounds of the british charging up the hill. This battle gave the colonists hope that they could win the war.

    Written by Thomas Jefferson. The main ideas were that they had their natural rights which were life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The significance is that the colonists declared that they be independent from england. It was signed on August 2, 1776. A lot of colonists felt that they should be independent from England.

    Written by Thomas Paine. Said that it was common sense for the Colonists to separate from England. This brought more colonists on board to fight England and gain their independance.
