  • French & Indian War

    French & Indian War
    A. The cause of the French & Indian War was land. The British wanted to move west, but the French and Indians weren't going to give up their land. B. Early French victories were caused by the French & natives ambushing the British. British were use to fighting in rows. Britain's comeback started when King George lll chose William Pitt to lead England causing capturing of Quebec & Montreal. C. England won the War. Treaty of Paris 1763 ended the war which required France to give up all the land.

    A. The document was presented due to the French and Indian War which stated the following colonist were not allowed to settle West of the Appalachian Mountains. B. This affected the Colonist wanted to settle more land out West but couldn't because of the Proclamation of 1763.
  • Sugar Act

    A. The man behind the Sugar Act was George Greenville. B. The Sugar Act was passed by parliament to set a tax on Sugar & Molasses imported from England. C. The act was important because it put a halt on the rum industries. Which was one of the most important drinks in the colonies. D. The colonist respond by having of the 1st open protest against the British.

    A. George Grenville was also responsible for the Stamp act. B. The Stamp Act was were you had to get various item like important documents. Nearly every paper item to be printed on stamped. This means the colonist had to pay this tax on almost every paper used for legal documents. C. The responses started to get violent like with the Sons of Liberty. There were more riots and protest with this Act.

The Sons of Liberty dressed up as MoHawk Indians climbed aboard the British ships. Then started to dump the Tea into the Boston Harbor. D. The Intolerable Act was set in place after the Boston Tea Party took place

It gave the French Canadians complete religious freedom and restored the French form of civil law. B. Increased American resentment against the British. Help spur them to Independence.

    A. The Declaration was written by Thomas Jefferson. B. The Declaration was signed on July 4, 1776. C. This was the colonies saying the are becoming a single nation and that they are suceeding from Great Britain. D. The main idea of the Declaration was created equal and are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. E. Loyalist we're not happen to be betraying the King but Partiots were happy to be Sticking up to the King.
