  • Compromise of 1820

    Compromise of 1820
The Compromise of 1820 Temporarily Solved Slavery Issues by making Missouri as a Slave State and Maine as a Non Slave State
It was somewhat good because the Compromise settled and balanced tensions for a Little bit between slave owners and people who didn't want Slavery.
  • UnderGround Railroad

    UnderGround Railroad
1849 Harriet Tubman Became Free and Became a Railroad Operator to Help Free Slaves
This was great as she helped others reach freedom and went back to risk her life so others could be free
  • Compromise of 1850

    Compromise of 1850
5 Bills Passed by Congress. Temporally Defused Tensions Between Slave and Free States.
It wasn't good because the Fugitive Slave Act was Very Wrong and it ended up causing the Civil War more.
  • Fugitive Slave Act

    Fugitive Slave Act
Required Slaves Be Sent Back To Original Owner, Even if they Were Free. Was Part of the Compromise of 1850
I don't think this was right and was against the Constitution and the slaves should of been free and not had to go back.
  • Popular Sovereignty

    Popular Sovereignty
In 1850 meant that residents got to choose on slavery in their boarders. Douglass believed that it was crucial to solve Slavery and was the core to the Kansas-Nebraska Act.
I think this was Good because he wanted to solve Slavery and really tried to end this corrupt thing people where doing.
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin(Book)

    Uncle Tom's Cabin(Book)
Harriet Beecher Stowe used the book to share ideas about the injustices of slavery.
I think this is great because the word needs to be spread about slavery and women rights.
  • Kansas-Nebraska Act

    Kansas-Nebraska Act
Repealed The Missouri Compromise and made 2 Territories which allowed for Popular Sovereignty. I Think This Was a Good Idea because it allowed the people to choose if they wanted slavery or not. Although people where coming into the boundaries to vote for what they wanted so the votes weren't actuate
  • John Brown (BLEEDING KANSAS)

    John Brown (BLEEDING KANSAS)
Group of Men that burned a hotel/destroyed hotels/ransacked homes. So John Brown led a group to stop them. I think It was good he stepped up and stopped the violence. Although he was against slavery he ended up taking many lives to prove his view.
