    This is what is said to lead to the beginning of WW1. Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by a Serbian terrorist group called the " Black Hand". He was warned about the group before he traveled to the capital of Bosnia. This gave reason for Austria-Hungary to have war with Serbia. After Austria declared war on Serbia, countries across the world started declaring war on other countries.

    Britain had given Germany an ultimatum to get out of Belgium by midnight but Germany didn't take the chance. When midnight came around Britain was ready for war and started preparing for war against Germany.

    Merchant ships had to go through the war zone. since they were going through the war zone, they were in danger. some couldn't ship their merchandise because they would sink. So all of the countries agreed to limit the submarines.
