  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    http://www.ushistory.org/us/11c.asp The British General sent out soldiers to Lexington, where they would capture Colonial leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock. Then Concord, where they would seize gunpowder. Paul Revere discovered this information and spread it throughout all of the colonies. The colony organized a miltia known as the minute men. During the battles of Lexington and Concord, 73 British soldiers had been killed and 174 wounded, and 26 were MIA. #howyalikethemapples

    The Battle of Bunker HIll
    Bunker Hill was the first major battle in the American Revolution. The battle took place on the Charlestown Peninsula on the North side of Boston Harbour.Their were 2,400 British troops against 1,500 Americans. While the British drove the Americans from the Charlestown peninsula it was with heavy loss. 226 soldiers killed during the battle and another 828 were wounded.     Was a crucial victory for the Patriots during the American Revolution. The Battle inspired France to attack Britain, providing much needed supplies and support. They gave the colonies weapons, food, clothing, soldiers, and, most importantly, their navy. With their navy, they were able to win the war. General Cornwallis was forced to surrender his troops at Yorktown on October 17, 1781. A lot of the troops were sick and even more were hungry.It was very hard to survive. One troop said, "half the army are naked, and almost the whole army go barefoot."
