Primaries and Caucuses
Six different primaries: Open, anyone can vote for their party. Semi-open, anyone can vote for anyone. Close, only registered voters can vote. Semi-closed, any registered voter can vote even independents. Blanket, a voter can pick anyone for whatever office. Run-off, two canidates proceed on regardless of affiliation. -
Caucuses
People can go listen to debates and vote for which canidate they believe is the strognest. -
Political Party Conventions
Politcal parties host conventions to nominate who they will want running for president and vice president. There is a Democratic, Republican and National convention. -
Election Day
People go to the polls and vote for who they want to take each office. -
Vote of Electoral College
People actually vote for someone to vote for the president. Each elector should vote for the party they are affiliated with but sometimes that doesn't happen
