    (Fun fact) Marco Polo wrote books abot his jouneys which inspired other explores to explore! The Polo's were some of the first Europeans who travel to China

    Christoher Columbus set sail on 1492. Christopher Columbus wanted to sail because he wanted to find a route to Asia .Christopher Columbus really did fail his missison but Christoher Coumbus did fin an unknown land that became America, and that made him famous. Christiher columbus had 4 voyages in 1492, 1493, 1498 and 1502.

    Bartolomeu Dias set sail on 1497. Bartolomeu wanted to explore because he wanted to sail to the tip of Africa because he wanted a faster way to India. Bartolomeu was successful because he found a faster way to India.

    Amerigo Vespucci set sail on 1499. Amerigos reason for exploring was to show the new world as in America was not part of Asia. Amerigo was successful from showing that Asia is not part of America.

    Alwarez Cabral

    Alwarez Cabral set sail in the 1500's. Alvarez was saling because he wanted to travel to the India's for trading. Alvarez did fail his mission because he did not find the India's, but he did find Brazil and South America so he is still consittered successful. (Fun fact) Cabral and his companions belived that a new land was on an island. When they found when they named it Island of Vera Cruz.

    Vasco Nunez de Balboa

    Vasco Nunez set sai on 1513. The reason Vasco Nunez wanted to explore because he wanted to find new land. Vasco Nunez was successful because he was the best for crossing the Isthmus of Panama, and becoming the first European to have lead a crew to reach the Pacific Ocean. (Fun fact) Vasco Nunez de Baboa was the first European to see the Pacific Ocean.

    Ponce De Leon sailed in 1513. HE is famous for finding La Florida and he is also famous for trying to find the Fountain of Youth, the Fountain of Youth is like a waterfall that you go under and it makes you younger.

    Ferdinand Magellan

    Ferdinand Magellan set sail on 1519. Ferdinand wanted to find a route to the west for trading. Ferdinand was successful even though he died during his voyage but his crew still found a route through the Panama and found the India's for trading. (Fun fact) Ferdinand Magellan ed the first expedition to sail around the world.

    Cartez

    Cartez set sailed in 1519. He set sailed to find the riches which he found in Aztec Capital. The Aztec's belived in a god would come and the Aztec's thought that Cartez was the god, but he wasn't. Cartez went back and icked up some indian's that didn't like the Aztec's so they took over Aztec's and so today the Spanish owns New Mexico.

    Panfilo De Narvaez

    Narvaez set sailed in 1528. He brought a spanish crew to La Florida since Aztec was taken over they foucused on La Florida to try to take over La Florida. Narvaez met a lot of Native Americans and they started war. Narvaez won but he lost a lot of his crew.

    De Soto set sailed in 1539. He wanted to try to take over South America and he did. He was the first to see the Mississipi River. He tryed to find god but he didn't find any.
