  • Child Welfare Laws

    This was the first child protection law. Government accepted to protect children for the first time.
  • NAEYC

    National Assocation for Nursery Education was formed in 1929. In 1964 the name was changed to National Assocation for the Education of Young Children.
  • The A.C.T. Test Began

    The A.C.T is a placement test for college. The A.C.T tests has 4 different subjects that they test you over such as Math,English,Science,And Social Studies. The tests are graded from 1-36 over each subject and the the average of the tests is the composite score which colleges look at.
  • Head Start

    Head Start was designed to provide a set of services to children in poverty. Head Start was to help bring children and familes out of poverty.
  • Special Education

    In 1975 Congress passed Education for All Handicapped Children Act. This law was one of the most important in the history of the United States. This law brang all of the states together. In 1986 the law was amended to include younger children.
  • Brain Research

    This was to see how to brain develops making a greater public awareness of the importance of early childhood education. This was from the first years of life to now.
  • Child Find Began

    Child Find also known as Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Child find was designed to meet unique learning needs of children with disabilities from preschool through 21 years old.
  • No Child Left Behind

    This program is designed for disadvantaged students. This law requires that all states receiving federal funding needs to administor a state wide test to all students annually.
