The hashtag "black lives matter" has been used over Instagram and Twitter to raise awareness for violence involving law enforcement and African Americans. -

Gabby Petito's disappearance reached national attention after her fiancé returned home to Florida without her after months of traveling the country together in their shared van. Gabby kept a public instagram page to document their travels together. Since her disappearance the instagram page has gained over one million followers.
